Great, I became the director for the Ramayana. I hate my classmates for mentioning my name (when our teacher asked who would be the director), especially the first people who did. I seriously do.. DX

So there was this quiz in our elective which would determine who would get free slots for the Australian Math Competition (AMC). Initially I thought I couldn’t do it, but soon enough I realized I could solve most of the problems. After checking our papers though, I learned I only obtained 50% of the total score. HAHAHA. So much for confidence… At least, I knew I was only three points behind Raymond’s score. XD

And, I lit the Bunsen burner for the chemistry practical test earlier. It was fun…

Alright, this is the part when I revert back into my “school-ranting” mode; I don’t think I’ll be able to think of a considerably unique topic to write about.

Our class didn’t get most of the teachers I wanted to have, but it’s a pretty okay set of teachers. Few of them were new teachers though, and I have yet to learn more about them before I can decide whether I’ll enjoy their classes or not. So far, I don’t see anything wrong with our classes yet. Everything’s going fine and well, probably except for that Chemistry quiz that I’m guessing I would flunk at. Ironically, I read the Chemistry book the night before the quiz. And the English teacher looks experienced but possesses an almost inaudible voice. Now, I’m wondering how I’ll be able to understand our English lessons…

Regarding electives, I signed up for Physics, Robotics and Math 7, all of which I had minimal chance of being accepted; for the Physics elective, they still have to look at our other options before they decide on accepting applicants, while in Robotics, I was doubtful that I’d make it anyway with such little experience in techie stuff. Math 7 was the elective I least expected to get accepted in since there were “contest-material” batchmates who were math gods/goddesses.. So I was shocked to see my name in the list of accepted applicants for Math 7. Great, I’ll be having Sir Nat as my teacher for two subjects. XD

K, I’ll be posting again some time. Because I’m off to nerdy mode. XD

All of my siblings have Multiply accounts. One night they even tried to convince me to get an account for myself too. I think Multiply is just so overrated. *gets hit by Multiply users*

Vanity is overrated as well. *gets hit by vain people* Okay, I may take pictures of myself from time to time, but I’m not vain vain. My siblings are always like,

The moment I found out I was performing third to the last, I knew something was gonna go wrong. They usually place more advanced players in the last slots. The girl who performed before me was good; her piece was a slightly easier than mine. The guy next to me was really good and played a super difficult piece. He was familiar because he was also next to me last semester. The last guy, however, was like three to five years younger than the girl, me, or even the guy after me. And he OWNS all of us. Seriously.

Anyway it was really funny because there were a lot of kids who were playing. The teacher was telling them, “Rub your hands if they feel cold. Diba, Science? Friction?” and they all rubbed their hands even while someone was already playing. The kids kept on standing too and their teacher was glaring at them with a very stern look. I was informed by my own teacher that one of those kids had AAD.

I concluded that the most popular piece was…

I correctly predicted that someone would eventually play “Alumblatt (AKA Fur Elise)” by Beethoven. Funny thing about the familiar pieces was, the girl, the guy and I would ‘play’ the piece on our table. I’m not sure if they noticed me but I did notice them.

My hands were sweaty the whole time. When I went to sit down the piano chair, I was wondering how many other sweaty fingers pressed the keys on the piano. Thinking about it makes me shiver. “Where the heck is Middle C?” was the first thing that came into my mind. I was a bit shocked because I actually forgot what a piano really looked like despite having practiced at my house an hour ago. It took me around three seconds to identify Middle C. That probably destroyed my train of thought and thus leading to a series of mistakes… It was really embarassing, I couldn’t even mask my mistakes (because the audience usually can’t tell when you actually make a mistake). My confidence was completely crushed. Harharhar. That was the first time stagefright really overpowered me.

I watched Pirates of the Carribean 3 a while ago with my siblings. It’s okay, but it didn’t match my expectations. I couldn’t understand some of their dialogues due to their British accent or whatever. I bet some of the dialogues were so important to the storyline, but I simply couldn’t understand. Consequently, the storyline was confusing. They went to this place and that, they traded this for that, they captured this and that, etc. Something was really fishy about SM Cinema, though, because they seem to have cut some parts off the movie. In the middle of the movie, there were Chinese subtitles that weren’t there before, and somehow disappeared again after a few scenes. Made me think it was pirated. LOL. (no pun intended)

It’s not as bad as some people say although it’s also not as nice as some say. There were a few funny hilarious moments, but most dialogue-exchanging scenes were boring. The effects were really cool though, and the fight scenes were nicely executed and done. If you did understand the storyline then I guess you would appreciate the movie. There were really a lot of twists that made it more exciting but at the same time made it harder to understand. Ah, well.

What man in their right mind would marry a woman aboard a ship full of sea-creature-infested pirates sailing around a colossal vortex in the middle of the sea?

The ballots are being counted right now, and as far as I know around 60% of the total number of precincts have submitted their results to the COMELEC. This is the first election I’ve meticulously observed even though I’m only turning sixteen. Maybe because of the “I’m sorry” speech President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo made. 2004′s elections would probably be one of the most controversial elections in Philippine history (another one would be Marcos versus Aquino) and the fact that it is opened my eyes to reality. Surprisingly, people seemed to have not voted for celebrities this time (boohoo for you.) That’s a start.

Just so you know, I’m qualified to vote for the 2010 Elections. (Am I that old?) And I think that 2010 Elections carries more weight than the 2007 Elections since people will be running for presidency during that season. So I have to develop a sense of ‘nationalism’ these days as this may be the last opportunity I can have before I finally get hold of a ballot. Woo! Do I sound mature enough?

Speaking of maturity, I’ve got two more years left before I enter college, but one year left to decide what course I should take up. I’m starting to really, really, reallyreallyreally consider Medicine this time. But bad news is, people say there wouldn’t be any Intarmed Program (UP) starting this year. And besides, Medicine is in UP Manila, not Diliman. I don’t want to dorm. There’s a medicine course in Ateneo but I’m not yet sure if Ateneo is a credible university for medicine. It’s partnered with Medical City though. Hmm.
If not medicine, I’d like to end up in Molecular Biology. I think it’s a pretty nice college course to take up. Plus, it sounds like a fancy-fancy course. XD

Speaking of maturity again, I can attend driving school by July 12! I’m excited about it, although I’ve never even tried driving. I’m not a big fan of cars and driving but it helps a lot to learn how to drive. The only little problem is that we’ve got four driving-schooled family members and a sister who’s still learning. And we only have two vehicles. What more if I attended driving school…

I’ve got a recital on May 26 at the UP MiniHall (Abelardo), 5:30PM. Then again, you won’t go. So don’t. XD

I was with my mom and two of my female siblings when we went to Trinoma; it was pretty nice except that most restaurants were mosquito-infested or fly-infested. We ate Tokyo Tokyo and there was a whole generation of mosquitoes and flies, I cannot express how irritated we were. A little later we ate “dessert” (I ate carbonara, actually) at Red Ribbon, and there were flies as well. At least, less mosquitoes. I think they should definitely fumigate the whole place…

We went around the place; there were still very few stores in the mall, the escalators were sandy (because the whole mall was dirty as it was still under construction), no Starbucks (to my surprise), no DanceManiax Machine in Timezone, and there were McDonalds both on the ground and the top floors. Aesthetically I would have to admit it that it’s a really pretty mall, although they should seriously clean up the whole mall before the ‘grand opening’ in June. Nobody wants mosquitoes or flies flying around your food, right?

Every store had its own, “brand new smell” that makes feel dizzy and nauseous. One of the slippers store had a very strong smell of rubber that I couldn’t tolerate.

Anyway, my mom went to Bayo to look for a present for our niece’s birthday. Since I don’t like shopping, and since I can’t shop for shirts in Bayo anyway, I sat on the couch-thingy beside a big mirror. Both of my siblings followed suit. Now, the store was playing Justin Timberlake’s album. There was this kid, around five or six years old, who started dancing in the middle of the store. What was really funny about it was that she was dancing like she was “clubbing.” She even started to walk towards the mirror and probably checked if she was doing well with her ‘dance performance.’ There was a funny-looking step in her dance where she pointed one of the cashiers, as if to say, “you go, girl!!” We were all snickering, and so was the cashier.

She ran away to one of the corners.

Then she performs a sl**ty routine reminiscent of Britney’s “Toxic.”

The kid was really freaky. So that is what MTV can do to you.

I’ve got another ingrown toenail! Something tells me that there must be something wrong with how my toes were structured. Or, my toenails are just too wide.. Some sites in the internet say that most recurrent toenails are mostly caused by genetics (nails too wide, nails dig in naturally, etc.). But then, no one in my family has had an ingrown nail before except my dad, who only had it once before having it treated through surgery. Ah, well. I guess I just have to bear with it..

Last week, I had half of the nail removed from my toe in “lengthwise” fashion (don’t want to be too graphical about the description). It’s pretty okay now except that it still swells a bit, but that can be cured by antibiotics. I’m hoping this is the last ingrown nail I’ll ever have in my whole life..

Exactly thirty days ago, I greeted someone a happy birthday thinking she was celebrating it that day. Turns out, I was one month ahead. Hahaha.

My hair is so long, it’s gonna take a week before it becomes emo-like hairstyle, eww. I’m especially against those people who use hair gel to fix their hair in such an exotic way that you can’t even tell if it was fixed. “Fake mohawks” are tolerable, but nevertheless still fad-ish, poser-like, and trying hard. I’ve seen several people wearing this hairstyle and it’s just too bothersome to even look at. Which reminds me, there’s this guy in Summer Enrichment Program who wears his hair in such a way that he looks like he just got up from bed, seriously. The way he fixes his hair is out of my comprehension; it’s perfectly normal except that there’s a huge, ‘blade’ of hair sticking out obliquely towards the right. And it’s not even a fake mohawk… Fashion statement?

I’m quite sure he won’t read this since he doesn’t even know me personally.. But if he does, well I’m dead meat…

I woke up this morning seeing my brother, who was about to play the guitar, smiling like a madman… I had no idea why. But it was freaky.

I’ve watched a fair number of advertisements involving election seasons, and most of them just suck. In the blue corner, “Team Unity” created an acronym containing the first letters of their last names and came up with “Mas Para sa Kidz Mo!”; I thought it sucked. Inevitably, they spelled the word “kids” as “kidz” so that Zubiri (famous for his somewhat incredibly annoying advertisement) could be included in the party’s tagline. It’s a pretty valid excuse for misspelling the word, if you ask me, but it still sounded silly especially because it was in Taglish. Then again, who am I to say that it sucked when I couldn’t even think of a better slogan than that…

In the red corner, “Genuine Opposition,” or “GO” for short, comes up with their own slogan which was “Plan Co Revolt.” Again, these candidates deliberately misspelled the word “ko” to accomodate candidate Coseteng in the slogan. What really bothered me was the message itself — I don’t see why revolting should be their primary concern. I raised my eyebrow when I first heard this advertisement because the message was simply stupid. Sure, the government could possibly be corrupt, but… I dunno, it really sounded dumb to me. Although it’s probable that they only came up with such a slogan to give voters a memorable mnemonic.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m not siding with the administration, nor am I siding with the opposition just because almost everyone hates the administration (which is a completely lame excuse). I just felt the desire to… make fun of their taglines.

The streets look like everyone was having a fiesta with all those “banderitas” hanging around. The Quezon City Circle (we usually pass here when going to Pisay, SM, Bulacan, etc.) looked really, really ugly hands down. The whole circumference was incredibly ugly with all those posters with faces printed on them. It sucked, big time. I wish someone would just burn all these faces down, it’s too bad arson is a crime.

Tomorrow is election day. To all voters, I hope you all vote wisely. And I also hope that you would think about how your ballot could change the country
